Canvas downtime March 8

This is a heads-up that Canvas will be down for 5-10 minutes at 1 a.m. March 8. The system will be undergoing brief maintenance.

Canvas issue Sunday night

Canvas reported that "most users" could not access Canvas between 11:20 p.m. and 11:24 pm Sunday night. The issue was fixed, and Canvas has been back up since then.

Canvas web browsers

Canvas Support has contacted me to say that many of our users continue to use the Internet Explorer 11 browser. Canvas is planning to deprecate support of IE11 at the end of July 2019. Like now, that browser will still work, but Canvas will not guarantee full functionality of all the features.

 

Users should not be using Internet Explorer anyways; Chrome is the preferred browser for Canvas. Please pass this info on to students.
